Matter of Trust

When you trust someone, there is no limit to what you can commit to such. You can commit your most trusted asset to the person because you know there is no need to worry.

If any one should bring an accusation against such person, without asking, you can speak in defence of the individual.

It takes a lot of commitment to earn this level of trust. Such individual would have been tested severally and not found wanting before he/she can enjoy that level of trust.

Job earned God’s trust so much that God boasted about him to the accuser. God was sure it wasn’t because of the wealth He gave Job that he honored Him, so He trusted him that no matter the change in circumstances, Job will still stand.

God wants to deal with us with this level of trust. He wants to showcase us in the corporate world as a role model, as a reference point for everyone in the career space.

For God to trust us however, we must earn it.

Consider Job, he was described as;

  • blameless and upright
  • Feared God
  • Abstained from iniquity
  • Turns from evil

These are those things that endeared Job to God. Notice that these are attributes that come from the heart. What gets God to trust us is not those outward show, but thoughts and actions from a circumcised heart.

David earned God’s trust. He was not the most saintly but because his heart was towards God at all times. When he sinned, he did not justify his iniquities but acknowledged them and repented. God therefore knew that He could trust David because his heart was right with Him.

Job would carry out rituals to cleanse his children after the feasting, not because they have sinned, but Incase they sinned against God. Just like David, Job always wanted to have a clean heart with God.

When our hearts are towards God, it will be easier to say the truth, be diligent at work, obey His instructions and be a star performer that He wants us to be at work.

Then, God will commit to our care all we need to excel without even asking because He knows we can be trusted.

God bless you.
