Mission

According to Statistical from the National Bureau of Statistics, 13th May 2010, the unemployment rate in Nigeria is at a 10 year high of 19.7%.
Between 1999 and 2009, the nation’s GDP increased from about $36 billion to $250 billion, while the number of unemployed people increased from 5.9 million to 17.5 million, validating the country’s unusual relationship between GDP growth and unemployment. Outside infrastructural factors, one key factor responsible for this high rate is the lack of employability skills and negative attitudinal disposition to work among the labour group.

      Hello Kelechi,
Thanks for the compliment. I dont see the problem you have, all you need is to take action. Follow the steps in the article how to secure a job without prior experience.

It is better to take actions than waiting to be acted upon. Once you are able to identify your skills and you have tailored it to the organisation where you think you will be able to add value, take action. Nothing happens until you have taken action.

Do let me know if you need any guidance in identifying your skills.

      Cheers.

      Hi Faith,
I witnessed a number of adviced to resign when i was in the banking sector. It was usually a sorry state because not so many people were prepared for the unexpected or in some cases the inevitable.

Now that you have been advised to resign, you need to move on with your life. This should be a turning point for you because you need to ask yourself what really you want in life. We find only what we seek with all our heart.

If we go out into life with no well defined idea of our future work, we can be certain that there will be no happy and accidental circumstance that will arrange what we do into an imposing structure with magnificent proportions.

Once you are clear with what you want to do, then act. Let me give you a simple advise, never wait and hope for opportunity to embrace you.

Go forward with your head held high and search for opportunity as a starving lion searches for its prey.

That you were asked to resign does not make you less capable of achieving great result in life. The worst thing you can do to yourself is to feel bad that you were let go of your job.

Dear, you need to repackage yourself, identify your skills and abilities, identify where (organisations) they will be useful or identify needs you can meet in the life of other people and go after it.

Your best is yet to come.

      Akin Afolabi
