You signed up with that organization to do one thing – serve!

The solution to a problem is often buried in the problem. This is why it is difficult for some people to progress in their career.

It is normal for employees to have expectations (founded or not) from their organizations and in most cases, those expectations are not met because human needs are insatiable. It is however very unwise when employees fail to serve diligently in an organization because of a perceived inequity in what they expect from their employer and what the employer is able to give.

The ultimate loser is not the organization but the employee. Your job is not just a meal ticket, it is a means to an end. When this perception is lost, and you reduce your level of input, you are only slowing down your growth and readiness for greater challenge. The best thing to do is to serve better.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
