The Boss that Says ‘Go to Hell’

Harassment and abuse are two vices common in the workplace. While some are very subtle, others are more aggressive but both leave their victims with a bad taste.

Stories abound of bosses using curse words when speaking to their subordinates. They get away with it many times and because few organizations have structures to address this, it’s being established as an acceptable practice.

If you are a victim of this or if you become a victim, you should try and deal with it through the company procedure if there is any.

As Christian employees, there are certain correlations in the case of an abusive boss and the end of our journey on this earth. Two I would like to discuss here are;

  1. We have a true boss – Jesus Christ that we are first accountable to and He is the one that determines what we get in return. Ephesians 6:58.
  2. Our true boss will never say ‘Go to hell’ and will do everything possible to make sure we don’t

This is probably one of the major works our boss did for us – to ensure that as many as are willing don’t go to hell.

The reason why you won’t go to hell is because of this act of Jesus stated in ‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. “God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!”

When your earthly boss uses such statement (to hell with you, go to hell), it carries no wait but if you refuse the love of Jesus Christ, then it carries all the weight. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when you are still denying the love of Jesus Christ by not living a totally surrendered life.

The breath we have today is not our own and what if the owner decides to take it now. We say God forbid but why do we think He keeps us in this life? To give us enough time to achieve our career goals? Make enough money to enjoy life or to help others? Here is why;

But you are not like that. You are a special group of people that God has chosen. You serve God like priests. You are servants of God, the King. You are his own special people, who obey him completely. You belong to God himself. He has taken you out of the dark place of sin, and he has brought you into his great light. He has done all this so that you can tell people how great he is.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭EASY‬‬

These are not my words but His and He said you have been preserved so that you can be His witness to other people in the way you live your life. My prayer is that I be counted worthy of this mission and I pray it for you too.

The boss can’t be blamed because He has already made provisions for us to reign with Him in eternity and not go to hell.

As for you, you were far away from God at one time. You thought bad things and you did bad things. As a result, you were God’s enemies. But now you have become God’s friends. This happened because Christ’s human body died on the cross. As a result, God has brought you to himself. As you stand in front of him, you are completely good and clean inside. He sees nothing in you that is bad. But you must continue to believe God’s true message. Do not turn away from it. Continue to trust God, as you did when you first heard the good news. People have told this good news to everyone all over the world. And God has chosen me, Paul, as his servant to tell this good news.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:21-23‬ ‭EASY‬‬

Having made this provision for us, the boss recognizes the challenges we face in our daily lives to continue to trust in God and always making righteous choices, so He got this covered too when He said;

So, we should come near to God and we should not be afraid. God is our King. We can ask him to help us when we need help. We know that he will forgive us and he will be kind to us in whatever way we need.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭EASY‬‬

Friends, our real boss does not want us to go to hell and He has not only said it but also provided the succor we need to navigate.

Let’s us embrace this grace. There is nothing on this earth that is comparable to the glory that is to be revealed.

Stay blessed.
